In a reverence to Nature and to the previous generations of the Guedes Family, a three-floor tower made of rock, with a wood spiral ramp around it was created in order to house the estate’s goats.
Being a symbol of fertility and abundance, the goats represent how this land has always given its best to those who work with this same spirit of adapting to nature in order to get better benefits for both.
The wine has a citrine color. It presents itself with a fresh and intense aroma,with hints of pineapple, melon and wood, mingled with the floral and citrus aromas of Maria Gomes. It is well-balanced and full-bodied with tropical notes and a long, pleasant finish.
This wine pairs well with seafood, chicken, pasta with cream sauce and is also excellent with Asian dishes. Serve between 10 and 12ºC.
The vines are planted in sandy loam topsoil with subsoil formed of rolled
rocks and clay. They are trained in an ascending cordon. The vines are pruned
by the Guyot method, excess branches and leaves are removed and the vines
are trained to aid in the maturation of the grapes.
The harvest is placed in crates. Once the grapes are pressed at low pressure,
the must is clarified. The Chardonnay is fermented and aged, during 8 months,
in French oak barrels while the Maria Gomes is fermented and aged, during 8
months, in stainless steel tanks.
After that period, the wines are blended, filtered and bottled.
